Six things you canhold him to.
No small trade should be asked to sign up to a page of legal promises it can't keep. So this page isn't a warranty document — it's the way Steve actually works, written down, drawn from his own words and from what customers keep saying in their reviews. If any of it turns out not to be true, that's worth a phone call.
The same person, start to finish
The electrician who quotes your job is the electrician who does it and the one who picks up the phone next year. That's not a policy, it's just what a one-man band is — and it's why every review names him.
Quotes and advice cost nothing
Straight from Steve's own site. Ring or message and you'll get an honest read on whether it's a five-minute fix or a proper job, before any money is mentioned.
No job too small, taken literally
A lightbulb change through to a full re-wire. Most electricians won't come out for one dead socket. If that's what you need, that's a job.
Tidy, and on time
Reviewers use the words "extremely tidy", "diligent", "safe", "quick to respond" and "on time both days". Dust sheets down, chases made good, and the mess leaves with him.
Certificated where it should be
Notifiable work certificated on completion and boards labelled legibly. Steve states he is NAPIT-approved and Part P registered — ask for his current registration and he'll send it over. Always ask; of any electrician.
The honest answer, including the cheap one
If your fuse board is fine, or the fault is an appliance rather than the installation, that's what you'll be told. The reviews describe someone who solves what's in front of him at a fair price rather than selling the bigger job.
Put it to the test
Ring with the smallest job on your list and see how it goes. That's genuinely the best way to find out whether any of the above is true — and it's the reason so many of the reviews are from people on their second and third call.
